Vali Muammer Guler Anadolu Ogretmen Lisesi (Vali Muammer Guler Teacher Training High School)

Vali Muammer Guler Anatolian Teacher Training High School is located in Beylikduzu which is one of the newly developed parts of Istanbul. It is approximately 30 km away from the city centre. Students have various social economical backgrounds. The aim of the school is to prepare students for Education Faculties. The school offers students the possibility to learn 2 foreign languages. Almost 90 percent of them are successful at University Entrance Exam and most of them continue their education at different faculties. As not all the students have opportunities to go abroad and learn different cultures, this EU project is acknowledged as the first and the most prominent chance for our school. The project will help to develop language skills, positive attitudes towards cultural differences and it will prompt students to look for different means of expression. It will enhance their creative skills and help to implement modern communication and information technologies. Thanks to the better knowledge of the world, they will be more familiar with the notion of tolerance and acceptance. The students will get the maximum advantage of the project and similarly the teachers will have the opportunity to promote innovative ideas and improve their teaching methods and linguistic skills.
