POLAND Zespół Szkół Samorządowych Gimnazjum Publiczne im. Jana Pawła II The junior secondary school ZSzS Gimnazjum Publiczne im. Jana Pawła II in Rejowiec Fabryczny is located in a disadvantaged area of Lubelskie region. It is the region with one of the highest rate of unemployment in Poland, lack of industry and therefore small development chances. Some of our students' families live under social minimum, and because of this many parents of our students are forced to work abroad to earn a living - what has its negative results on their children, so called "euro-orphans". Our pupils come from different background. They are learning all obligatory subjects, as well as taking part in various extra-curriculum activities, like English, German, ICT, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Drama, Choir and Art classes. They are open-minded and ready for the international cooperation. We are holding the students exchange programmes with Lithuania and Germany, but we are still trying to gain new possibilities to develop the European aspect of our school even more - with the help of different international programmes.

The Comenius programme focuses on the first phase of education, from pre-school and primary to secondary schools. It is relevant for all members of the education community: pupils, teachers, local authorities, parents’ associations, non-government organisations, teacher training institutes, universities and all other educational staff.
